We consider it important to contribute to local value creation, promote healthy, sustainable consumption and be a responsible, inclusive employer.
With around 21 500 employees in close to 30 countries, it is essential that we offer good working conditions and fair terms.
Orkla has a decentralised structure consisting of five business areas, more than 100 production facilities and 300 local brands. Many of our companies are cornerstone enterprises and important employers in their local communities. By developing profitable businesses, we create positive ripple effects for society by building skills, creating jobs and paying taxes.
We want to contribute to good, local solutions for addressing the major global challenges. Our contribution to sustainable development is to offer products with a smaller climate impact and to tackle the social and environmental challenges posed by raw materials and packaging used in our products.
Orkla’s approach
Orkla’s Responsible Employer and Human Rights Policy sets out guidelines for how we will create good workplaces, respect key human rights and foster a culture of openness, respect and consideration. Our common goals for our work up to 2025 are being a responsible employer, occupational health and safety, integrity, stakeholder dialogue and social engagement. These goals and our internal policies in this area have been approved by Orkla’s Group Executive Board and apply to all our business areas and companies. Our work will be based on a preventive approach, with emphasis on the precautionary principle and the principle of continuous improvement.
